Neither leading off base, nor stealing a base is allowed. And you can't pass the runner in front of you.
If the runner intentionally uses his head to block the ball. On any fly ball, a runner can attempt to advance bases right as a fielder touches the ball. If the fielder bobbles the ball, the runner may still tag up , even before the fielder has full control of the ball before the fielder is credited with a putout. The kicker may kick the ball behind home plate and if the ball travels into fair territory before passing 1st or 3rd base then it is a FAIR ball even if it hits or is outside the strike zone cones.
Any runner not on a base can be hit with the kickball by a fielder. He is then entitled to it until he is put out, or forced to vacate it for another runner legally entitled to that base. All awarded bases must be touched in their proper order. The runner returns to the base he had reached or passed when the ball became dead.
Rule 5. The pitcher throws the ball from the pitcher's mound see diagram at right , aiming to throw it over a pentagonal rubber slab known as the home plate. The batter stands to one side of this plate, and tries to hit the ball when it is pitched. This means if a runner is on base, he can tag up and risk running to the next bag.
This includes scoring, if it is an option. If the participant later returns to play, the participant must be inserted in the same written kicking order position previously held. If a player is ejected, injured, or becomes ill and cannot continue, the written kicking order will continue in the same formation, less the removed player. There is no "automatic out" when the removed player's spot in the order is reached. Only runners who are injured while traveling to a base, and who successfully make it to a base, may be substituted.
There are no other allowable runner substitutions. A runner may be substituted no more than twice during the game. After the second substitution, the injured player will be removed from the game and no longer be allowed to participate. Unless otherwise stated at the beginning of a kickball season, substitute players from outside of the league are not permitted to play. If you are shorthanded you must play shorthanded. In a season where substitute players from outside of the league are permitted to play, the following rules will apply:.
A non-league substitute is permitted to play only if there are less than 11 registered players present. A non-league substitute may play no more than two games per season. A non-league substitute may not play during the final tournament. Games will last at most 7 innings or approximately 45 minutes. Once the game reaches the minute mark, the head ref will announce that the next inning top and bottom will be played and be the final inning. In the event of a tie score at the end of the game, the game shall be marked as a tie.
Non-metal cleats may be worn only on natural grass fields if not in violation of park rules. A game that is called off by the Referee after three 3 full innings of play shall be considered a regulation game. The game score at the end of the last full inning shall determine the winner. A game that is called off by the referee for any reason before three 3 full innings of play shall not be considered a regulation game and a new game may be rescheduled.
If a team is winning by 15 or more runs at the end of the 5th inning, the game will be called. If a team scores 7 runs in an inning that half inning will immediately come to an end and that team can't score any more than 7 runs in an inning. If a team doesn't have at least seven 7 players 10 minutes after a game is supposed to start, that team forfeits.
The team that doesn't forfeit will get 7 runs and the team that does forfeit gets 0 runs. Pitches must be smooth-rolling at a moderate speed no fastballs , with minimal bouncing and little to no spin.
A ball pitched smoothly into the batting box is a strike any part of the strike zone is considered a strike. Once the pitcher has the ball in control and retains possession on the mound, the play ends. Runners who are off base at this time and in forward motion may advance only one base.
Runners who are off base at this time and not in forward motion must return to the last base they touched. Kickers must kick within the kicking box. The kicker may line up outside of the kicking box. Any ball kicked outside of the first base or third base baselines will be considered foul. If the ball touches the ground in the outfield in fair territory or any player on the fielding team before entering foul territory it will be considered a fair ball. A count of four 4 balls advances the kicker to first base.
Other base runners only progress if they are forced. A count of three 3 strikes is an out. A claim of improper kicking order must be made to the Head Referee who will make the final determination. Such a claim must contain two parts:. Fielders must stay out of the base line. Runners hindered by any fielder within the base line, not making an active play for the ball, shall be safe at the base to which they were running.
No leading off or stealing. Runner can only advance after the ball is kicked. A runner off a base when the ball is kicked is out. One base on an overthrow into foul territory.
This rule is a restriction on the runner — not an automatic right for the runner to advance. A fielder can throw a ball at a runner below the shoulders. Runners hit in the neck or head with the ball will not be out unless they were ducking to dodge the ball Note: If the base-runner must advance because of another runner or kicker behind, it is called a force-out and the fielding team only has to tag the base to call an out. If there is no runner or kicker behind, it is not a force-out and the fielder with the ball must tag the base-runner.
One base-runner passes another. A base-runner intentionally interferes with a fielder who is trying to recover the ball. Three fouls by an individual kicker equal an out. If a ball is touched by a member of the fielding team before it bounces, it is a fair ball. For safety, there is no sliding or throwing of the ball at a player.
At the end of the game, have each team do a cheer for the other team, and have teams form lines to high five each other!
With older players, you could instate a rule that allows players to throw the ball at a runner below the waist or shoulders in order to get that player out.
