I select the phone I would like to copy, select super copy, and change the MAC to the new phone. This must not be correct because it doesn't work. How do I go about doing this?
I select the phone I want to copy, select Super Copy, I then change the MAC to the new phone I don't kow if thats right , but it doesn't let you do that because that MAC is already in the system it's plugged in.
So I'm wondering what is the best way to copy a phone, all of it, and then I'll change line one to the new number. Figured it out. Don't plug in the new phone until after you copy the other. I figured I could find some resources and learn as I go It blows me away that there are no tutorials or any easy to understand instructions on CUCM. Does anyone know of good articles or easy to understand instructions on CUCM?
I wish I had someone to learn from but there isn't anyone who knows about voip in our organization. This is like asking for easy to understand instructions on rebuilding the engine on a Boeing I'm being facetious here, but you have to understand that CUCM is an incredibly complex and capable VOIP system that's been maturing for 20 years now, so there's no quick-and-dirty how-to guide.
You need to either go get training, or else browse around Youtube videos and articles and books and glom together your own knowledge base. Best thing to do is open Word, screenshot a users phone for the device Phone and the Line s , now you have a reference. It would be a good time to cleanup Unity, Admins never remember to delete users there and that clears up disk space with old Voicemails.
CUCM can be very daunting- there will be lots of trial and error! I've found the configuration guides to be incredibly helpful. Which version are you running? Here's the guide for Yeah, when I first started looking into it I had a feeling that's how it was John's analogy of the Boeing I have been looking at a few YouTube videos surprised their are not more on the subject.
That is essentially all I know how to do at the moment. It is actually easy to understand because he uses Star Wars terms. I am really looking for something to study that starts at the bottom wherever that is? I know this probably doesn't exist but just trying to explain what I'm looking for. Thanks for all the info and willingness to help me out Curtis, your awesome! Ill shoot you a PM right away. You said " Trunks, Hunt Groups, Routes etc.. UCC automation modernworkplace pic.

Over 20 organizations use CUCM for secure and reliable communication and collaboration. The changes, prompted by user feedback in many cases, have been made in four areas: administration, user experience, security and compliance, and cloud computing.
The upgrade process has been simplified. One-touch cluster-wide upgrade from the publisher reduces your time and effort spent upgrading. This comes with new automated pre- and post-upgrade checks — reducing errors.
The activation code on-boarding feature provides a simpler, quicker way to deploy endpoints on CUCM. You no longer need to create and upload XML files to do this. Quick add device allows you to create a device, for instance, a conference room phone, without an associated user. Cisco also made changes to the administration of smart licensing, call management records CMR , conference bridge, and native voice XML. These changes include: A UDS proxy conference room search that allows you to search with user names and conference room dial number.
Extension mobility enhancements that allow user control of maximum login time and provide consistency between EM and EMCC multi-device logins. Changes to instant messaging and presence that introduced support for a persistent chat on mobile devices and encrypted archival of chat messages. Also, users can now anonymize their outbound calls by displaying an external presentation name and number.
OAuth support for SIP line side device registration has been added. The final result is a lower total cost of ownership by increasing Expressway capacity. Multi-forking support for CUCM network-based recording NBR adds redundancy and failover recorders, provides additional streams for media processing, and gives MiFiD compliance where required. Call recording for authenticated calls allows you to record unencrypted calls in certain instances.
Smart licensing is seeing two changes: specific license reservation, and privacy support — using a unique identifier, instead of IP address or hostname, during license registration and synchronization. Elliptic curve cryptography support provides equal cryptographic strength to RSA, but with a smaller key — it is more efficient.
Granular access control to administration has been added to enable different levels of restriction for security-related configuration settings. Enhanced remote account security and end-user credential security. There is more; some features are only available with CUCM Unified Communications. Latest Posts.
